Press Release: Chesterton Academy Invites Community to Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
CLINTON TOWNSHIP – Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Guadalupe, opening this Fall to students in grades 9-11 in Clinton Township, is celebrating its official opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, September 3rd, at noon. Chesterton students, families, faculty, and staff will be present. All in the community, as well as media, are welcome to attend this short outdoor ceremony at the doors of the school: 21400 S. Nunneley, Clinton Township, MI.
Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Guadalupe is one of 30 schools in the international Chesterton Schools Network, a network of classical high schools in the Catholic intellectual tradition. The school’s classical curriculum combines a liberal arts education with a strong emphasis on Catholic tradition.
The Network is part of The Society of Gilbert Keith Chesterton, a 501(c)(3) organization. The first school in the network opened in 2008 in the Twin Cities, MN. The network’s mission is to offer a classical, integrated high school education that is faithful to the magisterium of the Catholic Church and affordable for families of average means.
G.K. Chesterton, the prolific early 20th century English writer, philosopher, journalist, artist, poet, and defender of Christianity, is the namesake of the school. Also inspired by Pope Saint John Paul II, the network’s motto is Cultura Vitae, the culture of life.
To RSVP please send an email with number of guests to leawoj@umich.edu by September 1st.
